People gave gladly and generously – – not because they were required to give, not out of obligation, not out of fear, not out of guilt, but out of a genuine love for God and one another.There is a sense in which generosity can be commanded; but gladness cannot. Some words just don’t seem to go together.In the passage of Scripture, we have read today from Acts, we find two such words that, unfortunately, do not always go together, words that we do not often associate with each other.
