"When I started painting, when I found my artistic DNA, part of that process was trying to figure out how I wanted to represent these images. "I did photograph her facing forward. And then, I photograph them, after I've taken the time to consider what I want to style them in - sometimes stuff from their closet. ""I didn't want to do the obvious.
