Microsoft InfoPath 2013 replacement for Office 2016 There appears to be minimal information on the web, including MS websites for what the replacement application will be for Microsoft Office InfoPath 2013. Microsoft shared the InfoPath and SPD roadmap this year at SPC19 if you need any clearer message about the future of InfoPath: There is no roadmap! PowerApps can replace most functions of InfoPath, but not all. Microsoft has not yet said anything more then that InfoPath 2013 is the last version but they will support it until 2022. What I would suggest is to look into custom development via the SharePoint Framework model. If my organisation does not care about mobile/tablet devices at all, in the slightest, will PowerApps be a viable replacement for Infopath? Instead consider the solution needed and then design a PowerApp to meet that solution.I would also say yes - in migrating from SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint Online, we moved many of our InfoPath forms to PowerApps, using the Tablet view (changing the resolution to work better on a desktop) and creating beautiful interfaces with multi-step navigation for it. It can replace InfoPath to customize forms on SharePoint lists. Even though Microsoft has presented PowerApps as a replacement for InfoPath, it is still in the early stages. What happens to completed forms? Oh yeah workflows, is this merely rephrased as "Flows" in PowerApps is is there a bigger difference/shortcoming? You could transfer custom forms designed in InfoPath … If you choose tablet, then it doesn't work well on phones. You can use PowerApps but that isn't the same experience.

Seeing that Microsoft’s view is to continue to use InfoPath for form development within SharePoint, our recommendation based on the InfoPath and SharePoint forms roadmap would be to leave any existing forms alone and to possibly consider some InfoPath alternatives for new form development.So which tool do I choose to develop SharePoint forms without InfoPath when there are many InfoPath Alternatives out there? We do a lot of PowerApps that will only be used on a PC and this is the option to take. Again, there are no company mobile phones in my organisation so we don't care about making a form appear "friendly" on a mobile device's screen.Having said the aboce, I've tried to create a PowerApp on a new list and it doesn't appear to be something we want to replace Infopath with. Don't take the "this is how we did it in InfoPath" route as that will become a hindrance. lol Also, with regards to archiving, this might also be a show stopper.
